Sea World with The Burkarts...

Well, we are definitely getting our use out of the season passes to Sea World. This weekend Jon, Emma, & I headed out there again. This time Ariel, his mom, and 2 of his nieces joined us too. It was nice for Emma to have other girls to hang out with and she seemed to enjoy it. Plus, since summer hours had started,  we were able to stay late and see the fireworks. :) It was a nice day, weather wise, and the crowds weren't too bad either. All in all, another nice Sea World day!

Olivia's Dollhouse

This morning we went to a Fancy Tea Party with Emma's girl scout troop. Olivia's Dollhouse is somewhere I had wanted to take Emma for a while, but it is ridiculously expensive. Well, the girls voted on it and this is somewhere they wanted to go this year, so we signed up. Plus, since it was a troop event, rather than a personal one, I was able to use Emma's ledger to pay for it. Yay for cookie sales!! Emma & the rest of the girls had a fabulous time getting all dolled up, playing princess & etiquette games, doing a fashion show for the moms, getting their pictures taken, walking in heels, and having a princess tea party. It was adorable and I am so glad she got to go!

Splash Kingdom with Cousins

Today we visited Splash Kingdom again, but this time with all the cousins. Emma, Mikayla, & TJ LOVED having Bubby, Katie, & Lucy with us too. The kids had a great time and so did I. I even caught up on some reading & visiting with friends while the kids slipped & slid the day away. I love these kids!

Splash Kingdom, Day 1!

Today we went to Splash Kingdom to start getting some use out of the season passes. We also met up with Erin & Sophia. My, what a difference a year makes. These same kids who were so reticent before are now clambering up huge flights of stairs & zipping down the giant waterslides. In fact, I quickly became pretty superfluous to them, since I refuse to actually ride the slides myself ever since that horrible experience years ago with Kyle... overturned rings, torn bathing suits, drama. Lol. So I sat in a chaise lounge at the bottom and they kept circulating up & down the various slides. Unless they needed, food, drink, bathrooms, or wanted to go to another area of the park, it seemed like they were fine on their own. Darn kids getting too big too quickly. It was a fun day though. We were there from shortly after opening at 11am to almost closing at 8pm. They (and I) were fully worn out & happy when we left.

2012-2013 Troop Pictures

Ok, so maybe there is just the SLIGHTEST chance that I could possibly be just a bit biased... But seriously, does it get any cuter than this?!?! We got our troop pictures today and I love them!! As a general rule, I have stopped buying more than 1 school-type pictures of Emma since we take so many on a day to day basis, but I am so glad I bought these. They just turned out perfectly! Emma insisted on the hat. I had my reservations, but let it go since it didn't seem worth the fight. Turns out, my little fashionista knows what she is doing!

GS Year End Celebration!

Tonight was our end of the year celebration for Girl Scouts. We met up at Shakey's for some pizza, patches, and playtime. This was the first day all week I was up out of bed (bad bout of the stomach flu) and Emma had been going stir crazy. She had a blast running around with her friends and was very proud of her new little trophy. We love girl scouts!!

Jenks Lake

Today Jon & I decided to take a drive up in the mountains with Emma & Ariel. We had a really nice time walking around Jenks lake and, as the girls kept saying, "being in nature!" They loved exploring and actually got along really well. It was a nice day. The weather was great & it was beautiful up there.
