Prepping for First Grade...

I took Emma & TJ out to lunch today and shopping for school supplies. Emma was in 7th heaven to find not only a 1 Direction backpack, but a matching lunchbox, thermos, folder, pencils, notebook, and even tennis shoes! Silly girl. When she decides on a theme, she sure sticks with it. I love my little OCD princess. :)

One last waterpark day....

Jen & I decided to take the girls (and TJ & Bubby) to the waterpark for one more full say before we get back to the grind on Thursday. It was another wonderful, sunny, splashtastic day! These waterpark passes have been well worth the money this summer...

Ice Skating!

We decided to use our other Groupon voucher before the summer ends so we went ice skating again today. The kids are getting quite good at it. They had a great time and got quite a kick out of having to be all bundled up even though it was 100 degrees outside! :)

66ers Girl Scout Night!

Friday was Girl Scout Night AND Christmas in July Night at the ballpark! What a fun combination and right up our alley! Emma got to walk the field in a pre-game parade and then we had a campout right on the field after the game! We saw a movie on the jumbo screen and had ice cream sandwiches. It was such a fun night!!

San Diego Trip!

Mom, Emma, & I decided to get away for a few days and take a 3 generations, girls vacation. We went down to San Diego and had a wonderful time! We went to Sea World one day, the beach another day. We spent a couple evenings walking around Seaport Village (love that place!) and we even got in a visit with Uncle Orland. We checked out the Science Center too. I can't visit that place without thinking about Dad and all the times we went there as kids. Ironically enough, the first exhibit Emma headed for had to do with sound wave transmission. She donned the old fashioned headphones and sidled right up to the mike... It was like looking back at my dad.... He sure would have gotten a kick out of this little girl. I miss him.... Anyway, It was a great few days away. I sure am lucky to have such a great mom AND daughter...

Kimberly Crest Bug Expo

On Sunday morning Emma, Mom, & I met up with our friends at Kimberly Crest to check out their 1st annual Bug Expo. I thought they were going to have actual bugs there to learn about, but it ended up being more of a bug craft day. The girls got to make ladybug rocks, keychains, recycled egg carton spiders, etc. They made some cute things and the day was not well publicized so we had a very uncrowded morning.

VBS + Extra Fun! 07/15/13 - 07/19/13

Another fabulous summer week! Emma & TJ went to vacation bible school at the Packinghouse church every morning this week. They, along with Hayden, had a lot of fun. It was a fiesta theme this year, and they came home everyday shouting, "Ole!" In the afternoons we kept busy as well. On Monday we had lunch at Chick-fil-a with our friends. On Tuesday I took Emma & Tj to the EHR pool to meet up with Mary, Haley, Isa, & Trevor. The kids loved swimming! On Wednesday we went to the waterpark with Erin & Sophia. Thursday night Emma had a sleepover at Hayden's house while I took Mikayla & Katie to a TV show taping in Hollywood. And, on Friday, I got a cold. Lol. But never fear, I just fought through it and kept on keeping on. We spent Friday afternoon at the waterpark with Jen, Charlene, & Hayden.

Sea World 07/14/13

Spent the day at SeaWorld today with Jon & his family. We didn't get to a lot of the attractions or rides, but it was still a nice day. Emma enjoyed having other kids there with us and playing with Jon's nieces.

California Science Center

Today Mom, Emma, & I headed out to LA to visit the California Science Center. This place is so much fun. There are always so many things to see and do here, we end up spending an entire day. We also met up with Sophia, Erin, & Nancy in the afternoon and the girls had fun playing together - especially when Erin soaked them with the water wheel! We got to see the Endeavour Space Shuttle today and that was awesome, although I think Mom and I enjoyed that part more than Emma did. She just wanted to go back outside and play with Sophia some more!
