Happy Birthday Erin!

This past Saturday was Erin's birthday so a big group of us (Erin, Chris, & Sophia; Jen, Charlene, & Hayden; Ashley & Aaron; and Mom, Emma, & I) all decided to head out to Medieval Times to celebrate. Everything princess and royalty is always good with the little girls so this place was a big hit. They loved the crowns, the spinning light-up scepters, cheering and waving flags for "their" black & white knight, and
they were BEYOND THRILLED that the knight tossed a royal flower to each of them. :) Such fancy little maidens. :) To make it even better, Facebook had been running a contest  not too long ago with a chance to win a free ticket. Well, after the company ran the contest in an inconsistent manner (choosing "winners" who didn't follow the "20 word answer" requirement) they apologized and offfered EVERYONE who participated a ticket for free admission! Wahoo for a company with awesome customer service!!! So when I bought tickets for Emma & I, I was able to get mine free and hers at a discount with an online code. :) Love, love, LOVE cheap fun!

Wizard of Oz

Emma has been asking about going to see  a stage version of "The Wizard of Oz" for the past few months and, as luck would have it, Oz turned out to be the JU play in the park this summer. And what's better than a warm summer evening of outdoor community theater with friends, you ask? A warm summer evening of outdoor community theater with friends who know the sound guy for the production and can get you free front row seats for the show! Score!!! She show was great, the seats were amazing, and the company of friends was awesome. Emma, Sophia, & Hayden were able to see everything so clearly. Even though Emma only lasted until shortly after intermission (what else is new?), it was still a fabulous evening.

UFC Fight Night!

So Jen decided that she wanted to see the UFC fight last weekend. Why? Not because she is a huge fan of the sport but because (and I quote) "Faber is HOTT!" Lol. Yep. And that was enough of a reason for the rest of us to decide we needed a get together. So it was swimming, dinner, snacks, pay-per-view fight on one tv and Kinect for the kids on the other tv. It was a great night! Faber didn't win though. :( In fact, his fight was rather boring and didn't have as much violence as one would anticipate for a cage fight, but the rest of the evening was still great!

Happy 4th Birthday Mikey!

My friend Maria's little boy Mikey turned 4 this past week so we headed to the park to celebrate with them. Emma was more interested in exploring the dry creek bed and playing on the playground than on waiting for Mikey to finally show up, but she still had a cute time. Maria made all the kids little super hero capes. Emma was too cute running around with her pink bowed cape blowing in the breeze.)

Backyard Movie Night!

The Morans held another backyard movie night this past Friday evening. These are always such a fun time. We make all kinds of goodies to share (I made fresh buttered/ salted popcorn and caramel popcorn) and just relax in the back yard in lawn chairs or on blankets. This time we watched Rio. Emma & I had not actually seen this one yet and she liked it.Well, she liked it for as long as she was awake. Lol. Emma fell asleep on my shoulder for the last 20 minutes or so, but that's okay. It had been a long day for the both of us!

Crafty Kids!

I love Pinterest! I have been finding the cutest crafts & activities on there. This past Friday afternoon (after VBS, lunch, the photo shoot, and a much needed cool down/ nap time at home) Erin, Jen, & I got the girls together for an early bbq and some crafting before Movie Night started. We made a version of tie-dyed shirts using sharpie markers and rubbing alcohol. They turned out really cute! I set Emma's shirt in the dryer before wearing it, but it still faded quite a bit after the first wash, so I am going to have to see what modifications we can come up with before trying this idea again...

Triple trouble!

Jen took some awesome pictures of the girls this past Friday afternoon. We found the cutest little dresses for all of them, matching styles but varying colors. It was so hot out and Emma eventually lost it and refused to smile anymore after about an hour and a half, but we got some good shots before then. Jen was even nice enough to snap a couple of TJ & Mikayla as well since they were there too. I love these pictures. :):)
