On Sunday we drove across the bridge onto Coronado Island and went to the beach. The coolest part is that we got to see a pod of dolphins swimming by the shore. They were even jumping in the air and the little ones were able to spot them as well!
Emma wasn't as scared of the water this time and actually ventured out knee-deep at times. The beach was beautiful and the wet sand had flecks of gold in it! The kids called it a magic beach. :) We brought tons of sand toys but it turns out that all they each needed was a bucket and shovel. Mikayla went on a walk with her mom to collect sea shells while Emma & TJ spent hours hauling up buckets of water, mixing in sand by the shovel-full, and stirring up "soup." We all got quite a bit of sun, despite the sunblock we used, but it was still a wonderful day. Emma says that the beach was the best part of vacation...
