Karen & I took Emma, TJ, and Mikayla out to lunch at Joe's Crab Shack and then to the Bass Pro Shop this afternoon. Lunch was delicious and the kids loved the decor, especially the giant shark hanging from the ceiling. The best part of the restaurant is that they have a playground right outside by the patio! So the kids got to run around and play for a bit when they were done eating. After that we headed across the street to check out the Bass Pro Shop. It's got to be the biggest sporting good store I've ever seen, complete with a restaurant, a pond out front, a homemade fudge counter, and a waterfall with a giant catfish tank right in the middle of the store! There was so much to see there and there were free activities for the kids too! Emma, TJ, & Kayla each got to build and paint a small plywood sailboat. Then we went out to the pond and Mikayla got to go fishing and caught a real live trout! She took it home to her Grandpa Clark and he is apparently frying it up for dinner, which she thinks is great.
