Despite all my best efforts to the contrary, Emma is turning into a bit of a girly girl. On one hand, she is a total tomboy who loves rough and tumble play and is good to go even with bumps and bruises. On the other hand, she has developed a love for ALL things Princess lately. Bonus points if it has princesses AND is pink. *Sigh* Well, rather than fighting the inevitable, I've decided to just embrace our femininity and go with it. So I broke down and bought us a character dining meal at Disney's California Adventure. While all princesses are good in Emma's eyes, Ariel (from the Little Mermaid) and Belle (from Beauty & the Beast) are her current favorites. We have been trying to meet them for the past couple months without any luck so I decided to have us eat where meeting them would be a sure thing.
Emma was so excited to have dinner with "her" princesses! There were 5 of them there and they rotated around the dining hall, stopping at every table to chat with the kids and take pictures. The food was surprisingly good too! The best part was that Emma is still under 3, so I didn't even have to buy her her own ticket. She got to eat "compliments of Walt Disney" apparently and they gave her a full meal (including appetizers, dessert, and drink) along with a crown, stickers, coloring pages, crayons, and a princess pin! It was a wonderful way to spend the evening and so worth the cost. I loved seeing how excited Emma got when she finally met "her" Ariel and Belle.
