We visited Crystal Cove state beach last Thursday and had a wonderful time. "Grandma" Nancy was taking her kindergarten class on their annual field trip and she let us tag along. Emma, Sophia, & Hayden got to join the kinder kids for a lecture/ puppet show about the tide pools and then they hiked down to the beach with them. Since we drove rather than riding the school bus, we were able to stay all day long. The girls had a blast splashing in the waves, exploring the tide pools, and digging in the sand. Emma was very excited to find lots of tiny sand crabs and one big rock crab in the tide pools. It was a great day, even with the sunburn I got on my face and scalp. Then we headed to Newport for dinner and a walk on the pier with ice creams. Great, great day. :)
