I bought a new vacuum this weekend and hated the idea of wasting the big ole box it came in. So I puttered around for a bit and checked out some websites and eventually came up with the idea of turning it into a pirate ship with the kids. A pair of scissors, a roll of packaging tape, and some tempera paint, and wha-la! One custom made pirate ship, complete with a "porthole" of sorts to peer out the rear of the vessel! The kids had fun helping me tape it and paint it. They have been playing in it off and on all afternoon. I think it turned out wonderfully. :)
